EN: The Star Child is a theatrical journey into the inner world of childhood, based on the fairy tale by Oscar Wilde. A group of young performers narrate and embody the story of a child who stands out, not because he is better, but because he believes he is. His beauty turns into pride, and distance from others leads him into loneliness. Through trials, silence and loss, the child gradually learns to see the other, to listen, and to feel compassion. The performance unfolds through original music, static projections of hand- colored images and minimal staging, leaving space for imagination, emotional truth and transformation.
NL: The Star Child is een theatrale reis naar de innerlijke wereld van de kindertijd, gebaseerd op het sprookje van Oscar Wilde. Een groep jonge performers vertelt en belichaamt het verhaal van een kind dat opvalt, niet omdat hij beter is, maar omdat hij denkt dat hij dat is. Zijn schoonheid verandert in trots, en de afstand tot anderen leidt hem in eenzaamheid. Door beproevingen, stilte en verlies leert het kind geleidelijk de ander te zien, te luisteren en mededogen te voelen.
De voorstelling ontvouwt zich via originele muziek, statische projecties van met de hand ingekleurde beelden en een minimale scenografie, waardoor ruimte ontstaat voor verbeelding, emotionele waarheid en transformatie.
