International Teaching Artists Conference

ITAC8, the eighth biennial conference for Teaching Artists, will take place
from 28 to 30 August in Antwerp and is part of the larger event Louder
Together, a unique opportunity to combine performing arts for children and
young people with the practice of Teaching Artistry.
ITAC8 focuses on art and culture, education, youth, care and solidarity. Our
goal is to inspire the international network of Teaching Artists, not only
through lectures, debates and discussions, but also through participatory
workshops and performances.
ITAC8 opens with a dynamic opening ceremony, setting the stage for
concurrent workshops that spark exploration and exchange. Each day features
two interactive sessions alongside thought-provoking keynote presentations.
Day One spotlights Teaching Artistry and education, laying the groundwork for
bold ideas and fresh perspectives. Day Two shifts to the intersection of art,
care, health, and well-being, with experiences unfolding across the city of
Antwerp. The final day builds to a collective finale, bringing participants
together for workshops, keynotes, and a mobilizing artistic closing event.

ITAC8, de achtste tweejaarlijkse conferentie voor Teaching Artists, vindt plaats
van 28 tot 30 augustus in Antwerpen en maakt deel uit van het grotere
evenement Louder Together, een unieke kans om podiumkunsten voor
kinderen en jongeren te combineren met de praktijk van Teaching Artistry.
ITAC8 focust op kunst, cultuur, educatie, jongeren, zorg en solidariteit. Ons
doel is om het internationaal netwerk van teaching artists te inspireren, niet
enkel door lezingen, debatten en gesprekken, maar ook door participatieve
workshops en optredens.
ITAC8 opent met een energieke openingsceremonie die de toon zet voor
parallelle workshops gericht op uitwisseling en verkenning staan. Elke dag
omvat twee interactieve sessies en een selectie van inspirerende keynote
presentaties. Dag één staat in het teken van de wisselwerking tussen Teaching
Artistry en onderwijs, en legt zo de basis voor gedurfde ideeën en nieuwe
perspectieven. Dag twee richt zich op de uitwisseling tussen kunst, zorg,
gezondheid en welzijn, met activiteiten verspreid over de stad Antwerpen. De
slotdag werkt toe naar een collectieve apotheose met workshops, keynotes
en een verbindend artistiek slotevenement.
